REALLY SCARY SATURDAY
This Saturday is a really good Saturday packed with great college football games some of the games are Florida vs. Alabama, Oklahoma vs. Texas, Stanford vs. Oregon, and Penn State vs. Iowa. Those are just some of the games. I will give you, the readers, the previews for those games.
Oklahoma vs. Texas
After Texas Longhorns loss last week, the Longhorns look to rebound off that loss and win this week. The problem with that is that they have a big team to get by in a big rivalry game, the Red River Rivalry. That team is the Oklahoma Sooners. They are 4-0 with an impressive victory over the Florida State Seminoles. This year mark the first year without the starting quarterbacks being Sam Bradford, for Oklahoma, and Colt McCoy, for Texas. This year the starters will be Landry Jones, for Oklahoma, and Garrett Gilbert, for Texas. Oklahoma leads in total yards, passing yards, and points scored. Texas leads in rushing yards. If the Longhorns defense can stop DeMarco Murray from running well and stop letting Ryan Broyles get near the ball they will be in good hands. However, that is not likely to happen. That's why I have Oklahoma winning this one 28-21.
Stanford vs. Oregon
This Saturday's game that features Stanford and Oregon is one of two games that feature two top ten teams (the other is Florida vs. Alabama). This will be the first game that Stanford has been in the top 10 since 2001. Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh said the game between these two teams is "monumental". This game is the game of the week for ESPN. As kid you always watched College GameDay and you're always watching the games in prime time. To finally be in that slot is a dream come true," said Stanford LB Shayne Skov. "For the guys who had to go through the tough seasons, the five-year guys, it's a step in the right direction to how we want to send them off. It's a great opportunity for the program." That dream will come true, but will Stanford come out on top. I say NO! I say no because I feel Oregon has better running power and you need that to win football games. I have Oregon in this on 42-38 in OT.
Penn State vs. Iowa
After losing two straight meetings Evan Royster and Penn State look to beat Ricky Stanzi and Iowa. The only way that Penn State can win is if star running back Evan Royster has another big like he had aganist Temple. If Iowa wants to win they will have to stop Royster from running long runs and stop true freshman Rob Bolden. An Iowa player had something to say about Bolden: "He can hurt you with his arm or his feet. He's very athletic," Iowa S Tyler Sash said. "He's taken hold of his chance and he's run with it." I think Penn State will win this game 17-9.
Florida vs. Alabama, ECF Game of the Week
In this game the Florida Gators will be without their kicker Caleb Sturgis. This show will mainlt focus on the QB's Greg McElroy and John Brantley. Other featured players for Alabama are Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson who will have to run well or the Gators main runners Jeff Demps and Backup QB Trey Burton hurt them in their race to victory. Burton broke Tim Tebow's record last Saturday vs. Kentucky with six total touchdowns (5 rushing, 1 reception). This game will be a very close, low scoring game. I think Florida will come close to winning but the Crimson Tide will win 21-17 in the final seconds.
