Bye Bye Urban
Urban Meyer who has coached for 5 years at Florida and won 2 national titles will be leaving Florida because of health concerns. Following the SEC championship game Urban Meyer was admitted to a hospital because of chest pains. Meyer said, "There was no heart damage." Meyer resigned Saturday after 5 seasons and 2 national championships at Florida. He goes into the Sugar bowl with a 56-10 record at Florida and a 22 game win streak that had just got snapped at the SEC championship game. His winning percentage is the highest among active coaches with at least 5 years experience. Meyer said he spoke to his family, his doctor, school president Bernie Machen, and athletic director Jeremy Foley before deciding it was in his best interest to focus on his health and family. Meyers health problems are not life threatening it has been reported. But first when I heard of this I just thought he did not want to be a loser. But when I got more into it I figured out it was because health. Now this puts Florida in a decision of who to try to get to coach. Alot of people probaly won't want to be in a position where everyone thinks they will go undeafeted. I have two people I think could replace him and 1 is Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops. But I probaly would not hire him if I could get Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham because of how Oklahoma did with a true freshman at quarterback and that's what I would consider John Brantley (Florida QB).

2 Florida Teams Preparing For Bowls
2 Florida teams are preparing for bowls and there both on the same day but at different times. Florida State will be playing in the Gator bowl and Florida will be playing in the Sugar bowl. In the Gator bowl it's Bobby Bowden's last game and in the Sugar bowl it's Tim Tebow's last game in college football. The Gator bowl is Florida State against West Virginia. The Sugar bowl is Florida against Cincinnati. Both Florida teams will be fired up to win because it's Tim Tebow's last game and Bobby Bowden's last game. What will Bowden's defense do in the Gator bowl? Well I'm looking for them to do the best they have done all season. Then for Florida will they be able to get back on track after they lost their SEC championship game to Alabama? I'm going to say they will. Both of these teams have probably been practicing nonstop and have went over alot of trick plays. I'm going to say FSU will be fired up to win and Florida will to.

2 Great Bowl Games In One Day
Yesterday there were two big bowl games. The two bowl games were the New Mexico bowl and the St. Petersburg bowl. In the New Mexico bowl the teams were Fresno St. and Wyoming and in this game the favorite was Fresno State. This game went into double overtime and Wyoming won 35-28. But with 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter Wyoming was losing by 7. With about 20 seconds left they had tied the game. So they kicked a kickoff that got away from Fresno State and they were at about the ten yard line. So instead of trying to get a drive to try to get a field goal they decided to kneel the ball. A good play in that position would be a fake QB kneel but they did not do that. Then in the first overtime Fresno State got to the one yard line and did not get a touchdown. Then Wyoming had a chance to get a field goal and win the game but they missed it. Then Wyoming got a touchdown and then Fresno State's QB got sacked. Which meant Fresno State lost. The next bowl game was the St. Petersburg bowl and the two teams were UCF and Rutgers. The favorite in this bowl game was Rutgers. But to me I thought UCF was going to win. But I was wrong. Rutgers won 45-24. In the 1st half UCF did pretty good but in the second they did the worst I have seen them play this year.

Mark Ingram Wins Heisman
Alot of people thought Mark Ingram was going to win the heisman and he did. Mark Ingram has led Alabama this year and has had outstanding stats. But in the beginning of the year he was not even in the talk. Which meant he had to push himself in and he did. Instead of Colt McCoy or Toby Gerhart winning the heisman he did. He's gotten 15 touchdowns this season and has gotten 1542 yards. He was the one who basically led Alabama on offense. He brought home a well deserved first heisman for Alabama. Also you usually see quarterbacks winning this award but he's a tailback and he still won it. Which does happen but it was a surprise. Ingram only finished 28 points ahead of Toby Gerhart. Anyone else could have won this award but all the voters picked Ingram. Why is he better than Toby Gerhart and Colt McCoy? Well Ingram is apparently better than Toby Gerhart because he goes to a BCS school. Toby Gerhart had 26 touchdowns and 1736 yards. That is better stats right? Ingram won this because he was in the talk most of the season. But then why didn't Colt McCoy or Tim Tebow win or even Ndamukong Suh. Well Tim Tebow and Colt McCoy did not play up to there potential in their conference championship game and Ndamukong Suh didn't win because he's on defense. Mark Ingram did great this year and really deserved the heisman.

Biggest Week In College Football This Year
This has been one of the biggest weeks in college football this year. Alot of things have happened like Brian Kelly getting hired at Notre Dame, Army and Navy rivalry, Heisman, the award show, Jimbo Fisher hiring Mark Stoops, and Charlie Strong going to Louisville. Starting off with Brian Kelly who was hired at Notre Dame. Alot of Cincinnati fans say he should not have left and it was just a matter of money. I agree that it was just a matter of money and I also agree he should not have left. All these Cincinnati players are saying that they felt like he betrayed them. Anyway what would Brian Kelly do better at Notre Dame because he'll be like Charlie Weis. Next the Army and Navy game. This is one of the biggest rivalries in college football history. But this year Navy wins it. Now moving on to the Heisman. This year the finalists are Ndamukong Suh, Toby Gerhart, Mark Ingram, Tim Tebow, and Colt McCoy. Who will win this year? Last year it was Sam Bradford. But this year I'm going to say Colt McCoy. Next the award show which has already happened and there were some big surprises like Colt McCoy winning three awards and Toby Gerhart winning the Doak Walker award over Mark Ingram. After all Jimbo Fiser has already fired but now he has hired someone. Mark Stoops was hired as the defensive coordinator at FSU. Finally Charlie Strong Florida's defensive coordinator has been hired at Louisville. He will be coaching the Sugar bowl unlike former Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly.

Should There Playoffs In College Football?
Alot of people do not like the BCS system. They want playoffs to happen. But if there favorite team was FSU or any other team that just got bowl eligible with 6 wins then you would not like it to much. The reason you wouldn't like it is because they would not make it to the playoffs. There would basically only be 12 teams in the playoffs. So only the top 12 would make it and there are lots of other teams that deserve it but won't get it. There is more bowl games than playoff games and more teams that deserved the spot will get in it. Not even Penn State would be in the playoffs most likely. Most fans right now want the BCS system to go but after it goes you'll want it to come back. The question is what do you want right now? Well I want the BCS system because more great teams can get into bowl games instead of waiting for the next year. Plus you get to watch more football games each night. I know FCS, division 2, and division three have playoffs but that's not the right way to settle it. You need to give more teams chances.

Texas And Alabama To Play in National Championship
Last night on the bowl selection show they announced that Texas and Alabama are going to the national championship. This whole season most people have thought Florida and Texas were going to play in the national championship but it did not happen. Alabama crushed Florida in the SEC championship 32-13. So that meant Alabama was going to the national championship most likely. Then Texas almost lost to Nebraska in their Big 12 championship. But they won 13-12. If they had lost then that would have opened the door for Cincinnati. But Texas just pulled it off. Now in this national championship game Alabama has Mark Ingram leading them and Texas has Colt McCoy leading them. Now these two teams have been in the top 5 this whole season practically. Texas has Jordan Shipley who has done great this year while Alabama has Greg McElroy who has dominated this whole season and has not lost a game ever since 8th grade. So in rankings Texas is the underdog and in mine they are to. So Texas better watch out for Alabama and study them good because Alabama is going to win by a field goal in the final seconds.

2 Big Conference Championship Games In One Day
On Saturday there will be 2 big conference championships in one day. Those two are the SEC championship and the Big 12 championship. In the Big 12 championship it is Texas vs. Nebraska and in the SEC championship it is Florida vs. Alabama. Florida and Alabama both played in the SEC championship game last year and Florida won. The only really big difference is that last year Alabama was at #1 and Florida was at #2. But this year Florida's #1 and Alabama is #2. Alabama probably wants revenge after last year's heartbreaking loss when Tim Tebow led the gators down field at the end of the game and got a touchdown to win the game. 2 years straight this game has decided who will go to the national championship. So that means this year whoever wins this game will go to the National Championship but aganist who? Well the other big conference championship is the Big 12 championship with Texas and Nebraska in it. If Texas wins they go to the national championship and Nebraska goes to represent the Big 12 in a BCS bowl game. But if Texas loses they will most likely go to a bowl game but not a BCS bowl game. If Nebraska wins they will still represent the Big 12 in a BCS bowl game. But if Texas does lose who will replace them in the national championship? Here are the 2 teams who might #4 TCU or #5 Cincinnati. But there is one other possible scenario if Alabama or Florida wins they both could face off in the national championship as long as Texas loses. But is this likely? No because unless this game goes into overtime and one of these teams just get the win it's not happening. But to me Florida and Texas are going to the national championship.

Charlie Weis Fired
Everyone has been saying Charlie Weis will be fired and those people who said that were right. There are lots of reasons Charlie Weis has gotten fired like because they started out on 6-2 and went on a four game losing streak and at the end of their season they were 6-6. Swarbick says he recommended to the university president Sunday night and said that Weis should be let go with 6 years left on his contract. This was a stupid decision on Notre Dame's part because he has 2 good players that's it. The two players are Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate. Both of those players are on offense which leaves a giant hole for defense. All that they had to do to Charlie Weis was tell him to recruit better defensive players not fire him. But now there is a huge problem who will coach Notre Dame. Well here are some coaches that might like Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly, TCU coach Gary Patterson, and Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh. But Weis will now most likely will be a NFL coach.
